The band frontman-turned-solo-artist told NME that he was preparing to move to New York to finish off the project – but did not reveal what kind of book he was writing.
"I'm moving to Manhattan in the next couple of weeks," he said. "I'm writing a book and I want to go somewhere and finish it."
He added: "We [Bloc Party] had a meeting before Christmas, but I'm just focused on the book at the moment. I'm not thinking about anything like that right now."
Bloc Party have been on hiatus since 2009, while Kele released his first solo album, 'The Boxer', last year.
Get the new issue of NME, on UK newsstands and available digitally from Wednesday (January 26), to read the full interview with the Kele.
Kele is nominated in the Best Dancefloor Filler category in the Shockwaves NME Awards 2011 for his song 'Tenderoni'. Head to NME.COM/awards to vote. (nme news)
