'Having breast implants is a long investment... I'm happy with them for now': Denise Richards on her botched boob jobs

Denise Richards says she is finally happy in her skin - for now, at least.

Charlie Sheen's ex opens up about her botched boob jobs in an interview this week to promote her new memoir, The Real Girl Next Door.

The 40-year-old mother of three, who has just adopted a baby girl Eloise, admits she did not do enough research before going under the knife aged just 19.

The actress recalls how she was in a rush to inflate her flat chest after a housemate of hers at the time had just had hers done.

She told Us Weekly magazine: 'When I was 19, a doctor put in bigger implants than what I'd asked for. I was in such a hurry to get them that I didn't research my doctor.'

You'd have though the bad experience would have taught Richards a lesson, but she then went and got a second dose of surgery that she wasn't happy with, increasing her bust to a size D, ahead of filming her 1998 movie Wild Things.

Asked why she didn't sue, she told the magazine: 'I felt very vulnerable. I was getting ready to film Wild Things and I didn't want to get into a lawsuit with some plastic surgeon.

'It wasn't right what the doctor did, but it is what it is.'

Denise says she is finally happy with her breasts, following a third stab at going under the knife.

'This is the size I wanted them to look at 19. There is a long investment with breast implants.

'They are not going to last a lifetime and things can go wrong. I'm happy with them now, but that could change.'

Denise's new memoir The Real Girl Next Door is available to buy now and in the book she talks about her ex Sheen, the father of her two girls Sam and Lola.

She tells Us Weekly that she didn't just want to trash her ex, who she says she has an 'up and down' relationship with.

'I didn't want to be sitting here as a bitter ex-wife trashing my ex-husband and saying all these nasty things about the father of my children.'

The couple married in 2002 before Richards filed for divorce in 2005. She was six months pregnant with Lola when she walked out on him.

There were more difficult times to come for Denise, when her beloved mother Joni was diagnosed with cancer.

After a short battle, she finally succumbed in 2007.

In the memoir, Denise painfully recalls: 'I made sure the time my mom had left was filled with family and love.'

She admits her grief has resurfaced recently, because her mother is not around to see her new adopted daughter.

'[Eloise] is such a blessing to me and my family. She is the first grandchild to be born without my mom. And so I wish she were here to see her.' dailymail.co.uk
