When they aren’t busy being Rolling Stone’s Greatest Punk Band of All Time (ahem), Green Day have apparently found time to work on some new material. Details on the band’s upcoming ninth studio album are scant, but you might want to ask someone in attendance at last week’s “surprise” gig in Costa Mesa, CA, where the band performed an entire set of new, previously unheard material.
Here’s the complete set list (via Green Day Authority):
“Nuclear Family”
“Stay The Night”
“Too Young To Die”
“Oh Love”
“Carpe Diem”
“Crushing Bastards”
“Little Boy Named Train”
“Trouble Maker”
“Sweet 16”
“Wow, That's Loud”
“8th Avenue Serenade”
“Ashley”
“Gabriella”
“Wild One”
“It's Fuck Time” (Foxboro Hot Tubs)
“Stray Heart”
“Last Gang In Town”
Encore:
“Amy”
“Goodbye To Romance” (Ozzy Osbourne cover)
“Welcome To Paradise”
“Burnout”
“Murder City”
“J.A.R.”
“Only Of You”
“Hitchin' A Ride”
“St. Jimmy”
“Minority”
That’s a hell of a lot of new songs. I think we might be closer to a new Green Day album that we thought!
