Most children's hobbies consist of playing football or belonging to the Brownies.

But not flamboyant Redvers Stokes, who at the tender age of 12 has picked a slightly more unique pastime - slipping into his mum's clothes to perform as a drag queen.

And the schoolboy, whose drag persona is Naughty Nora, is already showing great promise, as he has been crowned the country's youngest drag queen.

Redvers, from Sticker, Cornwall, has been sporting slinky dresses and tottering about in high heels even before he went to primary school.

He said: 'I don't think there's anything wrong with it, I think it's really funny.

'I might like dressing up in women's clothes but I still like girls. It's just a little hobby of mine.'

The colourful performer took his hobby to a competitive level when he entered the prestigious annual drag queen competition in his home village, competing with men three times his age.

He slipped on his mum Georgie's bra, padded it with toilet paper and married it with a tight pink slinky dress, a long, curly wig, and towering heels.

Glamorous Redvers, under the guise of Naughty Nora, took to the stage and enchanted judges with his face full of make-up.

He belted out Michael Jackson's 'Thriller' and a string of Dolly Parton hits.

The schoolboy was crowned Carnival Drag Queen to the shock of his farm worker parents, Georgie and Matthew, both 43, and hundreds of stunned locals.

He must now perform Drag Queen duties in Sticker for the next year.

Redvers is now is such demand he frequently performs as diva Naughty Nora for functions and events in Sticker.

And the confident entertainer does not fret about being teased by his peers, who he says adore his routine.

He said: 'When I heard about the drag queen competition I was desperate to enter. I've always been open to new things.

'I'm the only boy in my school choir and it doesn't bother me. I've got friend who are boys and girls and they think it's really cool when I dress up.

'My best friends at school even know how to put my make up on. They always come over before I have a function and do my nails and eyelashes.'

Since then, Redvers has been performing his drag queen duties by attending events in Sticker in full costume - and has bought a silvery blonde wig with tumbling curls for his Naughty Nora routine.

Mum Georgie said: 'I couldn't be more proud of Redvers, he is so popular and entertaining.

'We did worry at the beginning about whether it was right for him to segregate himself but we decided to let him get on with it.

'He is totally happy and it is so funny to see him dressed up. His Naughty Nora routine is very convincing and he was so delighted when he won.'

Mrs Stokes says her sons transforms himself when he shimmies into his outfit, and says he always amuses the family.

'It's like he morphs into this alter ego when he dresses up as her, he just bubbles with humour and creativity. He becomes a real diva.
