Adele was booed onstage after revealing her plans for an arena tour next year, despite previously saying that she would never do one.
Making the announcement to the crowd at the Hammersmith Apollo in London earlier this week, the Guardian quotes the singer as saying:
Too many people want to see my shows… This is the last time you'll catch me at a venue like this. These will be my last theatre dates as I'm moving on to arenas. I'll be at the O2 [Arena] in February.
Earlier this year Adele told Q magazine that she had no plans to play the huge London venue despite the fact that she had three nights on hold for her in the former Millennium Dome, saying:
“You think I'm gonna play a fucking arena? Are you out of your mind?' I'd rather play 12 years at the Barfly than one night at the O2!” She added that “the thought of an audience that big frightens the life out of me. I don't think the music would work either. It's all too slow.” NME NEws
