A female airline passenger drank almost a pint of whisky before groping a male Virgin Airways steward and demanding sex, a court heard today.
Katherine Goldberg, 25, was on a flight from South Africa to Heathrow when she assaulted the crew member by grabbing his crotch, it was claimed.
Ms Goldberg, who works in education, is said to have consumed 500ml of whisky on the flight in August when the assault happened, Uxbridge Magistrates Court was told.

Ms Goldberg, who works in education, is said to have consumed 500ml of whisky on the Virgin flight, Uxbridge Magistrates Court was told
‘She was drunk whilst on the airplane. She proceeded to sexually assault one of the crew members by demanding to have sex with him and grabbing his penis and crotch area,’ said Stella Waata, prosecuting.
But Ms Goldberg's lawyer applied to adjourn the case to make representations in relation to the charge of sexual assault and asked that Ms Goldberg receive a caution.
'It is a serious allegation but there are good reasons why it would be in the public interest for the Crown to deal with her by way of a caution,’ her lawyer said.
Ms Goldberg, of Ealing Common, West London, is charged with one count of sexual assault on a male and another of being drunk in an aircraft.
Wearing a white shirt and light pink trousers and appearing tearful in the dock, she spoke only to confirm her name, address and date of birth and was granted unconditional bail until her next appearance at the same court on 22 September. www.dailymail.co.uk
