It's quickly becoming an easy way for celebrities to announce their big news, such as an engagement or pregnancy.
And Michelle Heaton was no exception as she took to her Twitter page to announce that she is expecting a baby.
As she woke up on her 32nd birthday this morning, she logged onto to the social networking site to share her news with her 38,000 followers.

She wrote: 'Happy birthday/1st yr anniversary/ and mummy day to me! I can feel it doing press ups already! LOL! Best bday present ever! Xxx.'
After being flooded with congratulatory messages, Michelle added: 'Thank u all so much for your kind messages... such an amazing time.'
And her husband Hugh Hanley, added: 'Happy birthday and anniversary to my beautiful wife and mother to be.'
However, Michelle's breaking news is sure to tick off OK Magazine who are running the story in their latest edition out today.
But Michelle's Tweet came before the magazine could even Tweet about their world exclusive with the former Liberty X star.

In the interview with the glossy magazine, she said: 'I'm looking forward to when my bump starts to grow, I can't wait to show it off.'
She said she and Hugh were not going to find out the sex of the baby - even though she wants to shop for it already.
And Michelle said she had told her best friend Katie Price who had been very supportive.
Michelle and Hugh married last July in a ceremony in the Bahamas.
It is the second marriage for Michelle, who was hitched to pop star Andy Scott Lee but they split 18 months later.
